Salisbury, MD Zoo

Hi! Today mommy took me to the Salisbury zoo with lots of other moms and kids too!  We had a good time walking around.  I got to see a bear, bald eagle, alligators, flamingo's, and more.  It was super hot and I was all sweaty but we sat in a nice shaded area for lunch then I got to run around afterwards.

1st BIRTHDAY!!!!

I turned one year old on the 22nd!!  Mommy's family from NY came down that night and we had a big dinner, then the next day was my party!  Mommy and daddy got me a nice swing set and I love to swing and go down the slide.  I got lots of nice gifts from everyone, we had fun!  Unfortunately though I did not blow my candle out and I wanted nothing to do with the big cupcake all for me :(

At one year:

 - I am almost walking full time!
 - I do this new knee shuffle scoot when I dont feel like walking or crawling :)
 - I am eating big girl food most of the time
 - I am drinking whole milk (cold) and sometimes water in my sippy cup (no more formula!!)
 - I say lots of words like "sunshine", "down", "cold", "cool", "dinner", "Let's go", "hi", "shoes", "mommy", "daddy"
 - I can point to my nose, but then sometimes I start to pick it, GROSS!
 - I still take two naps a day
 - I still watch Baby Einstein almost every morning and also started "Signing Time" and Your baby can read.
 - I point to pictures of mommy and daddy and say their name

On July 7th my mommy and me, and Abby all went to NY for a few days.  Unfortunately mommy and I were sick the whole time we were up there with bad colds :(  We even stayed an extra day because mommy was really not feeling well.  We had a great time though and it was great to see my mommy's family.  I got to swim in the big pool, play with my cousins and crawl up and down the two steps at my grandparents house :)

This past Saturday mommy and daddy took me to the beach where I got to play in the sand and have fun for the first time!  At first when I got sand on my hand I cried but then I got over it and played with my little shovel and rake.  Today mommy took me to the beach again with Miss Jodi and her family and we had lots of fun!

This Friday my mommy's side of the family will be coming to visit for my big birthday.  I can't believe I will be one year old on Friday!!  Tomorrow we are going to get pictures taken and Wednesday my new swing set will be here.  This is a busy week and I am super excited.  I am still not fully walking yet but I just like to hang on mommy and daddy's hand.

Happy 4th of July!!

Hi everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful Independence Day!  Daddy, Mommy, and I went to great Uncle Curt's house for a bbq.  I got to meet even more of my Daddy's family :)  Aunt Betty and Uncle Jim came all the way up from NC, and I also met some of my Dad's cousins.  After the party I slept the whole way home and then mommy and I went to Miss Jodi's and swam in the pool.  Mr. Joe let off some fireworks for me while it was still light out and I thought they were really funny :)  I couldn't stay up to watch the real fireworks though because I was too tired :(
I have a little bit of a cold so mommy took me to the Dr. yesterday and I weigh 21lbs. 15oz..  Dr. said I can start on real milk when my formula is gone so mommy and daddy are happy about that :)  I am walking a little bit more each day and saying a WHOLE bunch of new words!

First Steps!

Today I took my first step!  Well it was actually four steps all at once!  Mommy was so excited for me.  We tried practicing more but I am not really ready yet :)  I have been standing up all by myself lately for several seconds, but once I realize I am not holding on to anything I drop to my knees and start crawling.
Hopefully tomorrow I will do some more walking!

11 Months Old!!

I am 11 months old today!!  Only one more month until the BIG Birthday:)  I also want to wish all the Father's a Happy Belated Father's Day!  My mommy and I went and got our pictures taken and had a collage done for my dad and we also got him a gift certificate to his favorite restaurant.  My daddy really enjoyed his day.
Today my cousins Macy and Adella came down to hang out with me and they are staying the night.  We have played all day long!  We had a great time today and can't wait to play with them some more tomorrow.  Tomorrow afternoon we are going to test out a bike seat for me so mommy and I can go bike riding together.  Oh, and I also want to wish my uncle Ty a Happy Belated Birthday!! (it was the 21st)

At 11 months old:

 - I still enjoy my baths very much!  I have lots of toys in my big girl bath but for some reason really enjoy playing with the wash cloth and soap bottle.
 - I can finally eat puffs and cheerios although mommy insists on cutting them in 1/2 for me :)
 - I would rather feed myself at this stage but mommy still insists on feeding me most of the time
 - My hair is growing in more and it is curly and blond, just like my mommy's!
 - I stand up all by myself, but once I know what I am doing I drop to my knees and crawl
 - I walk very well with a walker but not on my own yet
 - I talk ALL the time!  I tell Abby to be quiet in my own words and have conversations with mommy and daddy even though they have no idea what I am saying
 - I started sign language, but still have a lot to learn
 - I can say "uh-oh", "daddy", "ma ma", "no", "hi", "hey", "ca ca", "ba ba"
 - I clap, wave, give hi-fives, blow kisses, reach up for mommy or daddy, and give nice wet kisses :)
 - I still use my pacifier even though I have heard mommy and daddy talk about getting rid of it soon, oh no!
 - I also have a favorite blanky my aunt Nikki got me and it is silky and soft
 - I only use sippy cups now and also started drinking water along with formula throughout the day
